Ann Meyers Queen of Hearts
The Casbah Hotel and Casino opened downtown at First and Lewis in 1963. Ann Meyers arrived in 1976 looking to buy a casino property, and within 48 hours of visiting the Casbah she bought the hotel and casino. Meyers changed the name to Queen of Hearts in 1990 in order to update the hotel's image. Two years later she also bought the Hotel Nevada from prominent casino owner Jackie Gaughan. She sold both properties in 2004, and in 2010 the Ann Meyers Queen of Hearts was demolished to make way for Las Vegas's City Hall.
