“To me, photography is an art of observation. It’s about finding something interesting in an ordinary place… I’ve found it has little to do with the things you see and everything to do with the way you see them.” ~ Elliott Erwitt ~

ARTIST STATEMENT
During the time I was pursuing my Communications and Visual Art degree, I witnessed the changes within the photographic world with new computer technology in the late 80's and 90's. The once commanding darkroom was being integrated by the newest computer lab. I both embraced and questioned the digital world photography was being assimilated into. As I delved further into the basic concepts of photography; where it came from, what it meant, and where it was going. By looking critically and freshly at a well-known medium, I integrated infrared photography and current trend in cyanotype printing. This opened a creative outlet in art. Exploring and capturing light through formal and conceptual studies, I challenge traditional understanding of what a photograph is and how one is made. I emphasize process in art making, constructing conceptual reference to the medium itself. Combing cutting edge technology with the most historic of processes, I push the bounds of conventional photography to invoke fresh alternatives to creating and appreciating art.
Thank you for visiting my small corner of my world. Hope you enjoy my photo images as much as I've enjoyed creating it.
